Helping to prepare your child for school
The time of year has come round quickly again, where you will be thinking about how to help your child prepare for school. We have been working with all the children from the day they start with us to help them be ready for their next step in education. This includes building on their social and emotional skills, gross motor skills, fine motor skills and most importantly independence.
Below is a document on how you can continue to help your child at home during the next few months, especially when we break for the summer! Also a helpful document with skills you could be working on during the summer, again we have worked all year with the children with these skills.
Information for Parents for September 2025
- We are continuing to offer our Early morning drop off, this is a payable service from 8.30am to 9am - please contact us to book your child's place
- Morning drop off, doors will be open between 9.00am - 9.10am
- Afternoon between 12.30pm-12.40pm please do not arrive any earlier.
- Morning session pick up will be at 12.00 pm.
- For afternoon and all day sessions pick up will be at 3.30 pm.
- We have found in the last year parents dropping their children off at the main entrance door has benefited the children greatly and the majority children then settle much quicker. We will still be asking parents to continue with this, there will be a member of staff at the main door to welcome your child in, they will then be led into the rooms where they will be supported by all other members of staff.
What will my child need?
- Children will need to bring in a coat for the colder months.
- A bag with spare clothes including underwear and socks.
- Welly boots if possible.
- If they are staying for lunch please provide lunch in a named bag and ensure they have a drink provided with this.
- In the summer months please ensure your child has a named hat.
- In summer please apply sun cream to your child before they attend for a session, for children that stay all day we will reapply after lunch.
- Please name all items.
We appreciate your continued support and cooperation.
